News Update: Juniper Networks (NASDAQ:JNPR) Climbs on Network Protection Deal with Verizon Wireless

Shares of Juniper Networks (NYSE:JNPR) are trading 0.5% higher to .75 Thursday following an announcement yesterday that Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ) has selected Juniper’s SRX Series services gateway to provide added network protection for mobile data users on its network. Nicola Palmer, vice president for network at Verizon Wireless, commented, “Verizon Wireless selected the Juniper SRX Series based on its performance, scalability, and security. In addition to the reliability of the Verizon Wireless network, our customers also expect and deserve the highest levels of security that we can provide. Juniper’s solution helps us continue to meet that commitment by providing enhanced security for our mobile data customers.”

Some spread through the list of phone numbers people keep in their phones. Houston computer security firms are bracing for the attack. Daniel Areemit with Timeer Networking said a cell phone user’s friends will think they are receiving a message. “Oh, this is a very cool picture. They click and download it. Then, you infect it,” Areemit said. Some viruses can drain a cell phone user’s minutes, make long distance calls at the user’s expense or steal pictures and e-mail. But one virus, called the Commwarrior, is spreading through text messages, which is a way of life for many teenagers.

    if u use a Nokia Symbian 60 Smartphone then ur phone got infected by CommWarrior u juz format it by cliking this button: GREEN CALL>STAR KEY>NUMBER 3>SWITCH ON. But make sure ur phone is switch off be4 u do it!

    SymbianOS,PalmOS,Windows Mobile, and other OS which is used for cellphone are exposed to the malicious software such as CommWarrior,Cabir,Lasco,HatiHati, and so on. Use professional av and always keep it up to date.

    Bluetooth does not prevent or any device which connects to another to share info, you cannot get virus…researchers and phone technichians show that if u download something from a computer then have many possiblity to have one….when Bluetooth is on it might drain your battery but cannot recieve viruses unless you accept by connecting to a device inserted the password…

    ANY DEVICE CAPABLE OF CONNECTING TO ANOTHER TO SHARE INFORMATION/files can potentially send viruses. Digital viruses are simply malicious programs that make a device do something the user likely doesn’t want the device to do.
